In August 2010, I decided to embark on a journey.
A running journey.
Something I had wanted to do all my life.
Run.
Just run.
So I undertook the Couch To 5K program.
A program that gets you off the couch and running for 30 minutes continually in just nine weeks.
And when I undertook the program and loved it so much, I blogged about it.
Every single time I ran.
Every single time I got a step closer to my goal.
And when I completed my five kilometre run just four days after Miss A’s first birthday, I couldn’t have been happier or prouder of myself.
If you are thinking of undertaking the Couch To 5k program, or are part way through it, I hope you find my journey motivates you in some small way.
You can click here to read about my journey every step of the way.
Thanks, and good luck!
I know you can do it.

Hi there, off to read about your journey. I have just finished the 8th week and I am amazed that I can run for 28 minutes… slowly, but I don’t stop. Amazing, can’t believe it.
You go girl! I started the C25K program and couldn’t believe that my Fa Fa self can actually run! For more than a minute! Without dying! I’m still shocked when I hear myself say I enjoy running!
Hi, I have just started too! I am lucky that I used to run, I am just older and less fit now, having popped out a couple of bubbas in the past 3 years. I am looking forward to reading your blog.
Oh dear, I got to W6D1 and gave up

Congrats Shelley!! I too did the couch to 5k program – Earlier this year I went from never running anything to running a 5k (an early 40th birthday party for myself
Such a wonderful feeling of achievement! And reaching a new fitness level – I haven’t felt this good in years!
Way to go!!

I know that is really old, but I just felt the need to comment, as I am so impressed that you did it. I am starting to try and run. I have only been going for a couple of days, but already I can see a difference. I have never been able to run, and would really love to be able to.
Looking forward to reading your journey, and so glad that we came across each other today
xx Sannah
Oh, I always get so excited when somebody is just starting out! I can’t recommend C25k highly enough to really get you clocking over a good amount of running in a short amount of time. Good luck! x
