Do you ever feel like you’re changing?
Like really changing, inside and out?
I’m two months off my 35th birthday, and it feels like I’m right on the cusp of it.
I believe in the seven year cycle, the notion that every single cell in our body regenerates in that period of time.
That we are no longer that same person.
The changes I’m feeling, they are real, and pure.
Physically I’m ready to push myself harder than ever before.
Mentally I’m feeling tough enough and strong enough to step up to the plate.
Emotionally, I’m willing to let go, to listen, and most of all, just breathe.
I’m so ready for this new beginning.
Where are you at in the seven year cycle?

Interesting – i know for sure that kids go through huge changes on all levels every 6 months. I will have to look at the 7 year cycle (only ever heard about the dreaded 7 year itch). I am turning 40 in just under a month so am 2 years off hitting a 7 yr mark again… (i can easily picture myself peaking at 2!!) I am so happy to be witnessing your journey Shelley! xx
Thanks Deb, yay for the big 40, that’s huge (not the number, the milestone!) and I’m sure it will be the year where so many wonderful things fall into place for you. x
Hmm I am going through a change, post baby stage and starting to concentrate on me again. It is quite refreshing and exciting but I am past my 35th birthday…just!x
Post baby stage is definitely a time for change, you can just feel the shift can’t you? I’m glad to hear it’s such a good time for you. x
Ah my Shoe box life lady, now I know why I love your blog so much! I too will turn 35 at the end of this year, I feel like my 7 year cycle might be starting gin, fresh, exciting & confident…….I’m sure that’s what I always imagined my 35 year old self
Sounds like you’re well on your way, I love hearing people talk about themselves in such a positive way! x
meant again, not *gin…..ah iPad, maybe it knows I should start the 7 year cycle off with a drink lol
G & T it is then! x
Oh i’m 36 & can certainly say 35 was a massive year (for my business, family & darling husband, plus our first born started high school) so it is amazing, i love the numbers & their potential, love Posie
It certainly was a huge way to start for you. And remember, it’s just the beginning of the cycle! x
I love the idea of a 7 year cycle. I’m 32, so about half way through this one, which feels right… It means I can have this baby, look after him well for a year of so, gets myself in shape and get things on track for another fresh start in 2.5 years.
I’m so excited for you with this new beginning, very pleased to be along for the ride!
Thank you so much Lucy. I’m still so glad you stumbled across me! Sounds like you’re perfectly positioned, and have much to look forward to this coming year and beyond. x
I am 38 so right about ‘hump’ day I reckon. Explains a lot. lol. x
You couldn’t have asked for a better start to your hump year with your Food Patrol results – fabulous! Cheering you all the way. x
35 is an interesting milestone…I certainly found that so! Here’s an article about turning 35 that might be of interest.. http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life/making-peace-20120110-1psnw.html

I read that the other week too. There’s certainly a lot that changes in the 7-10 years to now. x
I love the idea that we can change, inside and out, all in the span of a little life. Thanks for this post this morning. It’s doing wonders for my mood!
Thanks Tori, I think change is natural, you just have to let it happen. x
I turned 35 almost a year ago, and the past 12 months have been some of the most life changing times. Unbelievable!
You’ve certainly had a big year, so glad I’ve been able to share in it with you. x
You really do sparkle from within your blog at the moment Shelley and I have no doubt that this is the start of something fabulous for you.
At 42 – soon to be 43 – does that mean that I’m going into the first or second year of the next 7 year cycle?
Last year I felt like the fog was slowly starting to lift after an age of battling chronic fatigue so perhaps it’s onward and upward from here.
Happy day!
Thank you Felicity, you are too kind. 42 is definitely the beginning of the cycle, and I’m so happy that you’re seeing changes that are helping you along the road to much health, love and happiness. x
i am about to come into my fourth seven year cycle in a few months! I can absolutely feel it – looking back at how far i have come and all the changes, and all of our goals and dreams for the next few years. Life changing goals and dreams – home owning, child breeding, establishing years. Im nervous, I’m excited, I’m not too sure how it looks or will pan out. but it feels like it is definitely about to be our time.
Oh I love this Lyndal!! Wishing you all the very best as you begin this next cycle and all that awaits. x
At 33 and change, I’m in the latter one-third of the cycle. I kinda like imagining it in these terms, rather than just that we’re progressing in one straight line. Thanks.
Absolutely, with the idea of cycles you’re always at a particular point with change ahead. I remember one of the first posts I wrote was about turning 33 and 1/3. It seemed significant at the time. x
I will turn 40 later in the year. Everyone keeps telling me (those that are 40 anyway) how depressed I will feel and it was beginning to get to me. So much so, I was starting to tell people I was a different age if they asked just so I wouldn’t have to hear their comments! I like your idea of cycles, not sure about the 7 year cycle as looking back I don’t remember any significant changes in me around those times, but i’ll let you know in 2 years
That’s if I’m not too depressed, being 42 and all!!!!
Isn’t 40 the new 30??
I try not to buy into the whole age thing, when I turned 30 people told me exactly the same thing! I definitely had significant changes in my life at 21 and 28 in terms of relationships and career, so I guess that’s why I feel such a strong connection to the cycle. x
